Project Coordinator Invisible Children Inc.

Basic Summary: Oversee the implementation of Invisible Children ("IC")'s emerging protection projects in the Orientale Province of DR Congo, with an assurance of strong oversight and high impact on communities affected by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA).

Requirements:
- 3 years experience in field-based post; posts in Great Lakes region and experience working on issues of protection in areas of conflict and post-conflict preferred
- French and English fluency required
- Working knowledge of Lingala, Swahili, or Azande a plus.
- International driving permit and ability to drive a manual vehicle and motorcycle.
- Prior experience working on LRA issues preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee Early Warning Network implementation and reporting with local implementing partner, ensuring successful implementation and monitoring of designated high frequency radio systems and corresponding community training
- Identify and prioritize new areas of HF radio implementation to link into Early Warning Network
- Improve accuracy and consistence of daily reporting

2. Explore further opportunities for IC to support child identification and reunification
- Work with local partners to evaluate IC's role in increasing capacity to reach escapees and non-accompanied children in remote areas, with emphasis on communication linkage with the Early Warning Network

3. Represent IC in collaborative rehabilitation project
- Participate in and make recommendations in Steering Committee discussions
- Ensure the rehabilitation project ties into larger UNHCR-led protection strategy, Early Warning Network, and local partnerships

4. Attend UN coordination/cluster meetings; maintain transparency of IC's work and represent the organization's work to the public

5. Oversee IC's financial assets dedicated to region
- Manage and account for the budget dedicated to initiatives and operations in Congo, with assistance from staff accountant

6. Shape and implement a comprehensive M&E strategy and oversee the gathering of baseline and comparative data where applicable

Position Details:
This is a salaried position, based in the town of Dungu in northeastern DR Congo, with paid time off and hardship leave allowance. Other benefits provided include: housing, cleaning services, transport, and international medical coverage.
