Dean - Faculty of Arts York St John University

We are seeking an exceptional Dean to assist York St John University to realise our aim of providing exceptional learning and teaching and an exceptional student experience. The Dean will provide leadership for a dynamic and innovative team and promote the Faculty and the University regionally, nationally and internationally. The Faculty has two subject areas, Creative Practice and Critical and Cultural Studies, and buoyant recruitment to its programmes in Creative Writing, Dance, English Literature, Film and TV Production, Fine Art, History and American Studies, Media and Film Studies, Music, Music Production, Product Design and Theatre. The Faculty’s research profile has been significantly enhanced over recent years and a growing number of Research Students are being enrolled.

As a member of the University Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Dean will share collective responsibility for the strategic direction of the University and for the implementation of its policies.

You will have appropriate familiarity with, and academic enthusiasm for, the range of subject areas in the Faculty, coupled with exceptional leadership and management skills.
