Finance Manager Montrose Africa Ltd.

Montrose is a young and vibrant international development services company providing support to clients operating in the developing world. We provide comprehensive services in the areas of technical assistance, social investment programming, project management and business development.

Montrose is seeking a Finance Manager to be responsible for upkeep and managing of the company’s financial accounts. This individual will be undertaking all aspects of the day-to-day financial operations for the company and its projects. The Finance Manager will be working on his/her own for the time being, with the possibility of being assisted by an Accounts Assistant at a later date.

The ideal candidate for this position will be energetic and creative, demonstrating strong problem solving skills, initiative and a keen interest in learning. This position is most suited to someone at the early stages of their career.

The responsibilities of the position will be:

 Enter all transactions on a daily basis into QuickBooks
 Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly management accounts using QuickBooks
 Properly maintain financial records in QuickBooks
 Control petty cash and day-to-day financial expenditures
 Manage office bills and other payments
 Maintain payroll
 Prepare, monitor and disburse payments and receivables
 Develop and monitor financial reporting systems for different projects
 Prepare monthly/quarterly expenditure reports for active projects
 Prepare contract-specific reports for different clients
 Prepare monthly, quarterly and six monthly cash flow projections
 Prepare accounts for year-end audit and support accounting team in carrying out audit
 Maintain equipment inventory
 Any other finance-related duties as required by Montrose Management.

Requirements

 Minimum of five years of directly relevant experience with specific experience in finance and some accounting
 Experience with QuickBooks a strong asset
 Relevant education and training in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting and planning
 Excellent English language skills
 Ability to work independently
 Strong-problem solving skills
