AusAID Jakarta's Health Section is seeking applications for Senior Program Manager HIV and Communicable Diseases (1 position)and Senior Policy Officer-Health (1 position). Under the Australia – Indonesia Partnership, the primary task of these positions is to ensure the design and delivery of quality aid programs, particularly in the health portfolio. These staff members are also expected to contribute to the broader sectoral policies, strategies and direction.
These positions are locally engaged staff positions, non-ongoing ones, for an initial of 24 months contract, with the possibility of extension. The extension of the contract will be subject to effective performance and regular performance assessment.
Each of these two positions available in the Health team has specific responsibilities related to placement within a particular work unit, but applicants may consider applying for both positions. The general tasks of the positions include the following:
1. Communication of AusAID’s vision, mission and business objectives based on a sound knowledge of development and government issues relevant to the Indonesia Aid Program.
2. Exercising sound judgment and problem-solving skills to deal with complex and often sensitive organisational issues including the management of contracts that may be complex or sensitive in nature.
3. Developing policy and program documents, draft submissions and provide briefing on the unit portfolio; and conduct analysis and identify research needs.
4. Building and maintaining relevant networks and mutually beneficial relationships with partner government, key stakeholders, development partners and whole of government partners, including representing the section in relevant forums and missions.
5. Contributing to the effective functioning of the work unit by supporting strategic planning and generating ideas to improve performance. This may include responsibility for supervising the planning and performance of unit staff, and mentoring unit staff.
