Senior Program Advisor-Evaluation

dTS is a strategic management consulting firm leading initiatives in social and economic development with a view to promoting equality and accountability. In recent years, dTS has worked in over 45 countries and provided gender integration, training and capacity development, and monitoring and evaluation services to USAID and the World Bank.

dTS is seeking a Senior Program Advisor-Evaluation for an anticipated USAID-funded project to provide monitoring and evaluation services to support work with USAID/Pakistan. The Senior Program Advisor - Evaluation will be responsible for technical direction, coordination, and quality control of evaluation tasks performed under this project.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, International Development, or related field (required)
• At least 10 years of experience in international development operations (required)
• At least 10 years of evaluation experience, including conducting mid-term and final evaluations, impact studies, sector assessments, and other analytic tasks (required)
• Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses (required)
• Prior experience working on USAID-funded projects (preferred)
• Prior experience working in Pakistan (preferred)
• Detail oriented and organized
• Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Good problem solving skills
• Team oriented individual
• High level of proficiency in MS Office applications

All Out (www.allout.org) is a new international online movement working to accelerate the move toward full equality for LGBT+ people around the world. We bring people together in every corner of the planet and of every identity—lesbian, gay, straight, transgender and all that’s between and beyond—to support the full range of rights and privileges that come with true equality for LGBT people.

Our board of directors are among the founders of Avaaz.org, the world’s largest online movement with more than 7 million members operating in 13 languages, and created Australia’s GetUp.org, an internationally-recognized political phenomenon with more members than all that country’s political parties put together.

The core of our work will involve executing rapid-response campaigns that combine our members' energy with media tactics to target individuals and institutions in government, business, media, or public leadership positions. We will also design and run aspirational and cultural campaigns and interventions, taking advantage of moments of crisis and opportunity to push the cultural needle on LGBT issues.

Campaign Director Position:

We're hiring for several senior Campaign Director positions to help us execute this work. Staff will be located in various regions around the globe including the US, Brazil, India, South Africa, Philippines, and Europe, among others.
We need brilliant campaign strategists with significant online organizing experience and a commitment to building an informed, powerful base of LGBT people and their allies to push progress faster, and to change politics and culture at every level.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute high-impact, opportunity driven campaign strategies combining online tactics, media expertise and strategic partnerships

• Identify strategic opportunities for AllOut.org advocacy campaigns

• Research priority issues, targeted officials

• Write persuasive email outreaches and supporting materials

• Monitor international and grassroots campaigns in our key issue areas, and communicate constantly with LGBT activists on the ground to identify opportunities for AllOut.org members to act.

• Represent AllIOut.org to partner organizations

• Support the development of campaign and media strategies with a focus on human rights abuses against LGBT communities, celebrating and bolstering local victories, and challenging legal, cultural and social systems of exclusion and discrimination.

• Identify, recruit and build relationships with allied individuals and partner organizations on various issue campaigns when strategically smart to do so.

Qualified candidates must have:

• 3+ years experience in leading *online* organizing campaigns for social change

• International work experience

• Fluency in verbal and written English and *at least* one other language

• Ability to write quickly, persuasively and on deadline a must. Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proven success engaging the media around politics, and in particular issues of social change

• A desire to work in a high impact, campaign team of dedicated hard-working organizers and technologists

• Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, organized, and deadline obsessed

• A commitment to strengthening the voice of LGBT people as a path toward progressive change

Deputy Executive Director

Partners in Population and Development (PPD- www.partners-popdev.org ), an intergovernmental alliance of 25 developing countries seeks to assist each other and other developing countries in addressing sexual and reproductive health and rights, including family planning and HIV/AIDS through South-South collaboration. PPD’s key strategies include senior level advocacy and policy dialogue, capacity building, sharing experiences and good practices and building strategic partnerships.

PPD is a Permanent Observer at the United Nations and has diplomatic status in Bangladesh. Apart from its Secretariat located in Dhaka, PPD has an Africa Regional Office in Kampala, Uganda and a programme office in China.

The Deputy Executive Director will be directly responsible for day to day operations including identification of needs of member countries, preparation of innovative project proposals to address needs, sourcing of funds and satisfactory project management within the overarching framework of PPD’s Strategic Plan. He/she would also support the Executive Director in mobilizing political and financial commitments, raising awareness about South-South collaboration and representing PPD in international fora.

Minimum qualifications for the position include a Master’s degree in Public Health/ Reproductive Health or similar (health related) development area and 10 years of professional experience in reproductive health including 3 years in low and middle income countries. Successful candidates are likely to have an outstanding track record of managing multicountry projects with a wide range of stakeholders from varied cultural settings; sound understanding of reproductive health related issues and excellent communication skills in English and French .

The position is open only to citizens of PPD member countries. The appointment is for an initial period of two years, renewable by mutual agreement.

Forest Project Officer

The Forest Trust (TFT) is a UK based charity that works in partnership with both producers and consumers of wood. TFT focuses on making trade in forest products from sustainably managed forests standard practice. In partnership with forest companies, local communities and other stakeholders, TFT provides expert advice and guidance to improve forest management practices towards the achievement of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. Through promoting the international trade of sustainably produced timber, TFT seeks to give forests value as fully functioning ecosystems. TFT is currently working in over 4 million hectares of forests across the globe and is expanding its forestry program to India.


TFT IN INDIA: TFT is launching its office in India in 2011. TFT has opportunities to expand its presence in India to support sustainable forest management and FSC certification, and to link forest products into the international market for certified and responsibly produced products.

FOREST OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The TFT Forester will be responsible for the implementation of the forest management activities under the direction of the TFT India Program Manager and through guidance from the Field Support Team in Europe. Thespecific tasks will include:
1. Identifying appropriate forest management operations that can link to TFT members’ needs
2. Helping develop a forestry program through outreach and recruitment of forestry operations
3. Helping promote and develop support for TFT’s India programme
4. Providing forest management support to forestry operations that supply into TFT member companies with emphasis in providing assistance on social and environmental issues
5. Conducting gap assessments to assess forest management needs
6. Developing Certification Action Plans for forest management operations
7. Working closely with forest management operations, communities, farmers, and government agencies to implement actions that lead to FSC certification
In addition to working in the field to support forest management operations, the Forest Officer will be responsible for the writing of reports to provide feedback and promoting TFT with stakeholders. The Forest Officer will also undertake general administrative tasks as and when required.


QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
The Forest Officer is required to meet the following criteria and demonstrate the following experience and skills:
1. Graduate/MSC degree in Forest Management, Social Forestry, Agronomy or related discipline;
2. Ideally at least three years professional experience in the forest, working with farmers and communities, and plantation management.
Understanding of current issues relating to forest certification, especially certification under the FSC system;
4. Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, especially with communities;
5. Confidence in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders including private companies, public institutions, communities, and NGO’s;
6. Good working knowledge of MS Office Programmes;
7. Strong written and spoken English language abilities are a MUST, and good ability in Hindi, Punjabi and Rajasthani are favorable;
8. Ability to work alone and in a small team and prioritize and organize own work schedule.
