Project Manager Business Development and Leverage - AIM

Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition

Overall Purpose:

Manage the operational AIM Partnership Activities
Provide leadership and overall guidance to the AIM partnership team
Owner of the AIM strategy and roll-out in collaboration with AIM coordinator and members of the AIM partnership
Identify and develop additional partnership opportunities with Dutch companies from relevant sectors, filtered through a criteria that prioritizes opportunities based on their ability to deliver impactful solutions as well as generate resources for AIM activities and operations
In collaboration with other GAIN streams, particularly NP (Nutrition Programs) and Advocacy identify project opportunities and build relationships with potential Dutch partners as well as local partners from the 6 countries
Represent AIM and or GAIN as required
Contribute to the development of a knowledge base on GAIN's portfolio and on trends in nutrition and related issues that might have impact on GAIN's program and positioning
Contribute expertise as required by teams to address specific issues relating to AIM's activities
Contribute to resource mobilization efforts for AIM
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Ultimately responsible for all strategic and implementation aspects of AIM partnership,, in particular responsible for increasing membership base as well as coordinating funding and implementation plans.
Manage the different AIM activities both at the global and local level
Identify and develop opportunities contributing to the achievement of AIM's goal
Propose and defend an annual budget for AIM partnership activities and ensure it is reflected in GAIN's Program of Work and Budget (PWB)
Control and manage the financial resources as defined in PWB
Prepare reports for AIM steering committee as well as GAIN's committees
In collaboration with partners, periodically assess AIM partnership activity portfolio
As appropriate identify and advise on new opportunities for AIM from a programmatic and resourcing standpoint
Represent AIM or GAIN at meetings and conferences
Member of BDL management team

Report to the Business Development and Leverage Director
Work closely with various GAIN streams and AIM partners
Skills & Attributes:

Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent project management, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Ability to use initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to operate within the corporate and public sectors to effectively liaise with private companies, development agencies, and governments in multiple cultures.
Clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates good judgment, expert problem solving, and creativity.
Strong communication skills in multicultural, multi-lingual environments.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team.
Experience:

Significant experience developing and managing projects in a multi-cultural environment, preferably at international level in the private sector, food industry or international organizations
Experience in delivering nutrition or food fortification programs or other public health programs
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment is critical.
Education:

Masters degree in food science, nutrition, public health, economics, business administration, or a suitable equivalent.
