The Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) is an international feminist organization working to strengthen the voice, impact and influence of women's rights advocates, organizations and movements internationally.

Overview of the Position:
AWID’s Young Feminist Activism Program is seeking a consultant to assist with the Young Feminist Wire (http://yfa.awid.org) our online portal that aims to strengthen the work of young feminists working on women’s rights and gender equality around the world.

The YFA Wire consultant reports to the Young Feminist Activism Program Associate.

Qualifications:
Expertise and Skills:
• Fluent in English, French, and Spanish
• Experience working with online social networking tools (Twitter, Facebook)
• Experience working with simple databases (MS Excel)
• Knowledge of women’s human rights and/or gender and development
• Experience working on young feminist initiatives
• Experience working with WordPress or other open-source content management systems

Responsibilities:
This position involves completing the following tasks in English, Spanish and French:
• Online sourcing of content & posting to the Wire
• Proofreading and short translations
• Email and other online communication with the Wire community
• Coordinating Wire user generated content including blog posts, news articles and announcements.
• Online research and networking with young women activists to profile their work on the Wire
• Online outreach to increase membership of the Wire
• Updating Facebook and Twitter accounts
• Moderating user comments on the Wire
• Basic database maintenance and other administrative tasks

Four month contract: 10 hours of work per week (paid hourly), with the possibility of renewal

All candidates will be asked to complete a short language test.
