Project Summary:
MSI is currently looking for a local evaluation officer to assist with a
large and complex evaluation of multiple grants awarded to non-governmental
organizations in Afghanistan. The project will quantitatively and
qualitatively evaluate and analyze a wide range of educational and cultural
grants based on their success and their impact on Afghan individuals and
society.
**This is a local position. Only Afghan nationals are eligible to apply.**
Position Summary:
The Local Senior Evaluation Officer position will be a senior-level position
reporting directly to the Team Leader. Under the direction of the Team
Leader, the Senior Evaluation Officer will be responsible for helping to
design, implement, and manage outcome evaluations. The Senior Evaluation
Officer will work with other team members to design data collection
instruments, and collect, analyze, and report data for each evaluation. The
Senior Evaluation Officer will also supervise evaluation teams and Afghan
partners. The position will be based in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with evaluation design of each grant within the
program portfolio;
· Develop and translate data collection protocols;
· Coordinate evaluation teams;
· Oversee field logistics and local Afghan partners;
· Collect qualitative data;
· Analyze qualitative and quantitative data;
· Participate in or lead the completion of evaluation
reports;
· Supervise translation of evaluation data;
· Assist with management reports.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in social science, development, or
related field;
· 5+ years of experience in the field of performance
measurement and evaluation for social development activities;
· Previous experience with social science research;
· Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative
data collection;
· Previous management experience;
· Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto required;
· Good working knowledge of English;
· Ability to travel and work throughout Afghanistan.
