| Main Tasks and Functions - To teach four courses in broadcast journalism at Balkh University; - To improve the journalism curriculum at Balkh University; - To build up a strong cooperation relationship between Press Now and Balkh University; - To support the journalists union in Mazar e Sharif; - To coordinate the Press Now projects in Bamiyan; - To establish a radio station in Shotepa; - To write financial and narrative reports; - To seek to support other universities in improving their journalism curriculum Required skills and experience - You are an experienced journalist and are able to transfer your skills; - You can demonstrate at least 4 years of relevant work experience in journalism and/or development of which at least 1 year internationally, and ideally have previous experience working in a fragile state; - You have experience and knowledge of project cycle management, financial management and people management; - You work well in a team, are a good organizer, have outstanding social and intercultural skills and are able to take decisions in a fast-moving context. You have skills in coaching/capacity building/coordination; - You are able and ready to live in Afghanistan and to be based there for a longer time; - You have good communication skills and fluent command of English both in writing and speaking. Knowledge of Dari, Tadjik, or Turkmen is an asset; - Experience in teaching and working as a trainer is an asset. Terms and conditions - The employee will be contracted by Press Now according to Dutch labour legislation; - Fulltime contract for six months (with possibility of extension); - Salary according to Press Now project coordinator scale, a minimum of € 3133.- and a maximum of € 4700.- gross per month on the basis of a 36 hours working week.
